d+m was founded on the belief that research should work harder for brands. Shaun and Tom have sharpened that ethos for today — pushing the industry to be braver, taking the blinkers off traditional methods, and proving insight can be as inspiring as it is intelligent.

Their success lies in a shared ethos but contrasting strengths — balancing creativity with discipline, curiosity with clarity, optimism with challenge. That dynamic defines d+m’s way of working: never choosing between creativity and rigour, emotion and clarity.

We were founded in 2005 (as davies+mckerr) by Andy and Rog – two award-winning planners. Fast-forward to today, and we’re a team of 30 and counting with specialists across qual, quant, project management and design.

More importantly, they all have the ‘planning gene’ that helps us find that 
edge for your brand.

We own what we do

We’ve been an employee-owned business since 2023, so our whole team has a 
stake in our success as we continue to grow.
